Indian Couture Week 2017 is a 7-day fashion show event, i.e 24th– 30th July. Many famous Indian designers have showcased their amazing collection in ICW. Here is an account of the best of Indian Couture Week 2017.
The 4th day of ICW started with designer Rahul Mishra’s handmade feather-light dress collection. The collection is called ‘PARIZAAD’, which means born of the divine. A blend of Persian, Roman and Byzantine designs, the collection had a touch of contemporary and traditional elements. On the other hand, designer Anju Modi closed the show with her collection ‘SUNEHRI KOTHI’. Her environment-friendly collection was handmade from minerals, indigo, vegetables and embellished with pure gold and silver.
Monisha Jaising unfolded her phenomenal collection ‘OPERA’ on the 5th day of Indian Couture Week 2017. The collection had a huge variety of fabrics like tulle, lame, chickenkari, Italian organza, banarasi and metallic. From peppy cocktail dresses to twisted ethnic wear, the collection was truly mesmerizing. Also, designer Varun Bahl’s collection ‘DREAM NOUVEAU’ is inspired from the Art Nouveau period. The pieces range from linear patterns to florals and plant motifs and are truly an art piece.
Designer Anita Dongre’s collection ‘TREE OF LOVE’ is a tribute to the Bishnoi tribal community in Rajasthan. She has brought the KHEJRI trees to life in her collection. The collection is effortlessly luxurious yet comfortable. Designer Gaurav Gupta’s collection ‘MOONDUST’ is like a fairytale. The fabrics used were crepe, tulle, chiffon, net and lace. From fishtail gowns to body hugging dresses, the collection was absolutely amazing.
On the final day of Indian Couture Week 2017, designer Rina Dhaka showcased her collection ‘#HonorTheSmile’ which featured voluminous pieces. The collection was focused on the dazzle and sparkle. Her collection was an absolute combination of softness and sensuality. Finally, the 7-day event came to an end with designer Manish Malhotra’s collection ‘SENSUAL AFFAIR’. The collection was all about the modern woman where she embraces and fearlessly expresses her sensuality. The collection featured flowing silhouettes and infinite skirt trails.
On the final note, the Indian Couture Week 2017 was a great platform for amazing Indian designers to showcase their alluring collections. ICW was a rich combination of modern and traditional values, which emerged out beautifully in the form of these great pieces of art.
