We seldom meet people who can leave a huge impact on our lives. It is even rare if the impact left is positive and powerful. Madhulika Mehta, is one of those people who experienced such an impact which changed her outlook in life in a positive way.
She is the founder of SatinVogue, a clothing brand. She always aspired to be a lawyer but one chance meeting with Ram Lashkari, a man she met while traveling, who told her to start designing as a hobby. She agreed to it but never imagined how much that one advice would change her life. Gradually, she started developing an interest in the field. Being too little in the big universe, she knew that she would learn a lot in the big field of fashion designing. She’s never been afraid of making mistakes; she always learns from the ones she makes.
While conversing with her, she told us that at she strives to meet the individual taste and preference of the customer. “The emphasis is not a mass production, but the satisfaction of the customers”. Every customer has varying tastes and she says that she can customise and make apparels as per the customer’s requirement for all types of occasions.
She doesn’t restrict herself to a certain kind of design or trend, instead, she believes in the uniqueness and subtle touches of the designers in their creations. Hence, she has no personal preference when it comes to designs and designers. She says, “I have a diversified vision and creative channel, from which every piece is made precisely and it’s a masterpiece on its own”. Her inspiration came from Georgio Armani who was in the medical industry before he stepped into the fashion world, and climbed to the top. “Nothing is impossible in fashion”, says Madhulika
Her advice to other young and budding designers is “Before the rainbow comes there is a storm and to become who we are we need to go through the storm to feel the rainbow. So work hard with zeal and interest. Failure and success are part of life so do not get discouraged by barriers setbacks”. She also advices them to read about the journey and life of other designers who are doing well in the field. ”Not only will the stories be inspiring, but also truly motivational”, Madhulika tells FlairTales. She asks them to follow their passion and strive for the best in the field.
