#CottonIsCool campaign initiated by Textile Ministry to promote cotton products

Smriti Irani, the Union textiles Minister had launched a new campaign #CottonIsCool on Twitter in order to promote cotton among masses.

The Fashion Design Council of India is backing the campaign and ShopClues has partnered with the Ministry to bring out the Indian side of cotton. ShopClues has created a #CottonIsCool page giving 10% discount to customers purchasing cotton products from their website on using their coupon code ‘cottoniscool’

“It gives us immense pleasure to join hands with the ministry of textiles to promote the cotton industry. Cotton is a fabric that keeps one cool in scorching Indian summers, and we are sure that our customers spread across Bharat in over 30,000 pin-codes will have a lot to choose from our wide range of cotton products we have on offer,” said Radhika Aggarwal who is the chief business officer and co-founder at Shopclues.

Smriti Irani recently tweeted, “I celebrate Indian summers and cotton industry with my #CottonIsCool look. What is your #CottonIsCool look?!” with her picture in a cotton saree. She has encouraged others to follow suit.

ShopClues has partnered with the Central Cottage Emporium and National Handloom Development Corporation before to promote handloom, regional and handicraft products. This was part of the ‘IndiMarket’ exclusive platform for locally sourced Indian products.
