DENVER STARTUP WEEK 2018: A Startup Festival to promote business ventures and resource allocation for the entrepreneurial community

The Denver Startup Week 2018 starts from September 24th to September 28th   in Downtown Denver. It was formulated in 2012 as a free conclave for the entrepreneurial community there. It was collectively initiated by the Denver Startup Week Organizing Committee and the local business community.

The aim was to join the dots of business venture, resources and the marketing arena for startups. It has been deemed to be a must-go for the technology and design enthusiasts and also focusses on social entrepreneurship, manufacturing and business

It has been sponsored by some major league names like Aging 2.0, Chase for Business, and Colorado State University amongst others. It is a 1000 member strong community, with volunteers, session presenters, panelists, lecturers and more.

In the words of Tami Door, CEO and President of Denver Downtown Partnership, the event serves to ‘connect, strengthen and inspire’ and  ‘it celebrates the entrepreneurial community as a whole while being highly attuned and responsive to the experiences, backgrounds and needs of every individual within it’.

As Ben Deda, COO of Foodmaven and co-founder of the event suggests, it helps start and grow ventures irrespective of the stage of growth.  Erik Mitisek, President of IMAgine Analytics, adds that this event is an excellent opportunity to experience Denver’s ‘entrepreneurial ecosystem’.

It opens with the ‘kick-off breakfast’ segment on 24th and spans over the next few days as an interactive platform. It includes workshops, panel assessment and discussions, happy hours, job fairs etc. It also attracts some of the notable names of the startup world- Aaron Draplin, Daymond John (CEO of FUBU), DISH CEO Charlie Ergen etc., who would be delivering keynote lectures in the event. During the Week, the Basecamp located on Champa St. serves as the epicenter of exchange of ideas, interactive atmosphere, innovations, advanced designs and enhancements for the participants.

This year features more than 350 programs in the forms of networking sessions, mentorship hours, workshops, leadership spotlights and panel presentations.
