We all know how drastically makeup can change your face. Using quality products, the right techniques and enough practice can refine your entire look! Numerous tutorial videos are available on Facebook and Instagram to guide you how to go about it. An extremely crucial yet often overlooked aspect of the entire process are your EYEBROWS!
1. Choosing The Correct Eyebrows Shape
Make sure the shape of eyebrows compliment your face. Choosing the shape and maintaining them is important!
Square Face- Softly rounded, not very angular
Round Face- Very angular, high arch would look great
Long face- Extend the tails of your brows east-to-west
Heart shaped face-Keep brows well-manicured and properly groomed, controlled shape and not very bushy
Oval Faced- Soft arched
2. Thick Eyebrows Lovin’
The preference for thicker eyebrows has risen over time. Thick, full eyebrows can make you look attractive while thinner ones can make you look dull. Here’s how you can make them thicker and fuller:
Castor Oil-Soak a cotton swab in castor oil (preferably black otherwise whatever is available) and apply it over your brows. Leave for 30 minutes and clean it off with warm water.
Aloe vera- Apply the gel from an aloe vera leaf over your brows and leave for 30 minutes and then wash it with warm water.
Lemon-Apply lemon juice on your brows and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse them off with warm water.
Milk-Apply drops of whole milk with cotton and rinse off after drying.
You can repeat any of the remedies everyday.
Tip: Healthy diet is always a great way to speed up results!
3. Using Eyebrow Pencils
Choose the right shade for your brows-If you have fair brows, choose a pencil two shades darker and if you have dark eyebrow hair, select two shades lighter. Hold your skin stretched at the temples and line gently along the upper edge of the eyebrow, then line along the bottom edge. Make light feathery strokes and fill in between the two lined edges.
Blend the colour- Make soft, short strokes with the help of a spoolie covering the entire length of the brows to blend in the colour. Blending is the key! Begin at inner corners of the brows, brush up and out.
Use a Clear Gel-Apply a clear gel from the inner corners of the brows to the ends. This will keep untidy hair in place. The pencil colour will also be prevented from smudging.
Tip: Use a dark chocolate brown eyebrow pencil for black eyebrows.
4. Getting Them Done
If you get your brows done at salons, make sure you have only one person doing them every time you go. Try to make sure that nobody else touches them. If you pluck them out yourself, make sure your hand is set with good practice! One wrong strand pulled, and you have to wait for it to grow back to get the right shape again!
Tip: You can order eyebrows stencils and kits online!
It is amazing how remarkably your face will change with properly done brows. The eyebrows trend has been set high by supermodel Cara Delevingne and Hollywood actress Lily Collins and Lucy Hale. Give those brows time and patience and you will surely see the difference!
