Let us make a list of clothing which you should go for and the ones which you should stay away from.

Material is very important.

Go for :

The only answer to material should be cotton. You can occasionally go for hand-woven fabrics which are light, soft and porous.

Stay away :

Synthetic is a big no. If you are choosing denim, be careful! Choose the correct denim and you will be comfortable. Artificial fabric will not only make you uncomfortable by trapping heat, but also cause skin rashes and irritation. Even the thinnest of synthetic fabrics cause significant amount of perspiration and discomfort.

Choose your cut and style.

Go for :

Asymmetrical cuts are in fashion for quite a long time. Opt for flowy and comfortable cuts. The neckline should be prominent and accentuate your neck. Some of the styles which are trending this summer are – ruffles, sheer, fringes. Wear clothing that allows freedom of movement and outline your body (waistline, bust, curves).

Stay away :

Avoid wearing ‘shapeless’ garments or too tight fitting ones. Off-shoulders are fading out and have become a bit too overrated. In summers, it is better to opt for capris or palazzo pants rather than jeans which is mostly thick and made up of material that fit tightly. And always take heed of your body type. Choose a cut that embraces your curves.

To stay trendy, you got to stay in print.

Go for :

Summer prints include pastels, checks, candy stripes, polka dots, florals, graphic tees, abstract art and so on. You can go for one print at one time or even combine two prints to look striking. But, do take care while combining two prints, because being simple and looking classy is always the key!

Stay away :

Summer is just not the time for solid dull colours. Keep away from dark and depressing prints. It is okay to go bold at times but not always. Keep the black at the back of your wardrobe for a while.

Accessories

Go for :

It is better to go nude with minimal earrings or a simple pendant. You can experiment with bracelets and chokers, instead. Anklets are eye turners. Keep it small, simple and beautiful. Don’t complicate things in the heat. And do wear a pair of statement shades to hide your eyes, showing off the edgy appearance.

Stay away :

Ear cuffs are no longer cool. Also, if you are going for junk jewellery, keep it limited to only one piece a look.

Bags

Go for :

Tote, duffle bags, backpacks should be preferred because you always need to carry a bottle of water and many other things to battle the summer heat.

Stay away :

Clutches and non-utilisable shoulder and straw bags should be tucked away at the bottom of your closet. Designer bags are great but pick them, according to your utility.

Shoes

Go for :

Flats, strapped sandals, trainers, oxfords and even ballerina flats can be a great choice for footwear. Choose trainers if you need to travel a lot; otherwise settle for sandals and flats. Gladiator sandals can create a stunning look and keep it simple, at the same time. Check out online stores for some inspiration, and find coupons like a Clarks discount code to lower the price of your order.

Stay away :

Stilettos, wedges, boots, pumps, platforms, mules should be better avoided. Loafers can be tried occasionally or even, the peep-toe heels. Wear socks only when necessary. Rather than rubber, go for leather and plastic.

This is all we got to remember, folks! Now, head out and set the trend this summer. So what are you waiting for? Endow yourself with the best of these combinations and share your wardrobe creations with us.

Stay trendy, stay you!
