Suchi Mukherjee was on maternity leave when she created limeroad.com and along with her second child, her business was born in 2012. She founded the startup along with Prashant Malik, and Ankush Mehra and there was no looking back since then.

This site isn’t just any other online shopping site. It is technologically as well as creatively charged. Users can create different looks and styles with the clothes sold in the site through a scrapbook tool and the site has millions of looks to be inspired from. Talk about being fun and creative!  It also has a technology interface that lets sellers start their own digital store in 60 seconds.

It has only been 5 years since its birth but already, limeroad.com is flying high in the sky of success. LimeRoad has raised a whopping sum of US$30 million from Tiger Global, Matrix Partners, and Lightspeed Venture Partners in series C funding. The same investors had showered US$15 million into the fast-growing fashion portal less than a year ago. Earlier, at inception, Matrix and Lightspeed had invested US$5 million. People are all about this online portal and ready to fund its success. “Women from across the country are using scrapbooks as a medium for self-expression… As a result, over 80 per cent of our orders come from organic traffic,” says LimeRoad CEO and co-founder Suchi Mukherjee, in a statement on the funding.

Suchi Mukherjee, before becoming the CEO of this amazing fashion site had worked for eBay in London and had studied finance at the London School of Economics. Her co-founders Prashant Malik and Ankush Mehra worked with Facebook and headed the supply chain at Reliance Hypermarkets, respectively.

In a world where even food is ordered online and delivered in less than 30 mins, it’s not that easy to survive in the virtual world let alone build a successful business on it. Myntra, Snapdeal, Flipkart, all these are huge names when it comes to online fashion portals, but striving through them and building their own path, startups like LimeRoad, Roposo etc are spreading their wings and flying faster than the wind.
