Some people love makeup, some think it’s very overrated. The way I see it, makeup is nothing short of art. If a person knows makeup he/she can create masterpieces. Makeup doesn’t make you beautiful for sure but a little touch here and a little touch there sometimes can add so much to your beauty.
Some beauty products are a necessary part of our lives. So much so that you can’t really call them make up as such. For example a sunscreen. It protects you. You absolutely need it. A moisturiser, A night cream, Cleanser. All of these are a necessity and not really makeup per se. But then comes all the fun stuff. Eyeshadows, blushes, highlighters, so MANY varieties of lip products. To be honest, it’s really fun, admit it. Some of these have been trending since a long time and some have only just recently taken their positions on the ‘trending chart’.
Contouring has been a thing for a long time now and many beauty gurus swear by it. Contouring helps define and shape your face as you like it. By using a few simple steps of contouring you can achieve that sexy jawline and the glamorously high cheek bones which most people drool after.
When you talk of contouring, you absolutely cannot miss highlighting. They go hand in hand. And nowadays highlighters have taken a major place in the makeup bag. Big makeup companies are concentrating on developing various types of highlighters, even experimenting with different shades in them. You apply highlighters to the high points on your faces like your browbones, the sides of your forehead, over your cheekbones, the tip of your nose and your cupid’s bow. These are the places where the light hits and with the correct amount, technique and shade of highlighters, you can give your face a dewy and stunning look. Highlighting the tip of your nose is especially trending these days.
Eyebrows. Let us talk about eyebrows. Eyebrows define your face big time. If you’ve ever had a bad day with your eyebrows shaping, then you know what I am talking about. You have to be extra careful with the shaping and trimming of your eyebrows since it can change your entire look for the good and well, as well as for the worse. Shaping them perfectly isn’t enough. You can add more to them by shaping them precisely with a brush or an eyebrow pencil, the colour of which should be matching exactly with your natural colour. Now, leaving it there probably wasn’t enough. A few weeks back the feather eyebrows were on fire. It was a trend that rose very quickly and once the excitement of something new died down, the trend died down eventually too. The trick was to brush your eyebrows in a way that they fanned out and shaped into something looking like a feather.
When it comes to defining your eyes, the first thing that comes to your mind is a winged liner. This has been trending since yore. It is a classic and certainly beautiful swipe of the eyeliner that gives your eyes more drama and definition.
The Smokey Eyes is by far my most favourite makeup trend. It was and still is a top trend in the list. It is classy, bold, and charmingly sexy, all in one. Once you master this look, you wouldn’t need anything else. Pair it with nude lips and you are ready to take on the world!
Lips are a very important feature of one’s face. Hence, lining and filling them with the right shade and the right manner is very crucial. Some opt for the nude lips mostly whereas some like to experiment a lot with different shades of colours right from red to purple to grey to black or even a mix of many colours called ombre. A classic red lip is always a welcome sight for parties or dinners or a ball room event. If you can carry it with a lady’s grace you have nothing to worry about. Whichever colour you chose, it is wise to line them with a similar shade of lip liner first and then fill them up neatly.
All of this could be very overwhelming but it doesn’t really matter what trend you pick or what makeup brand you use, at the end of the day, you have to be comfortable in it and carry it out the way it is meant to be. Beauty is only skin deep but no one says you can’t play with some colours *wink *wink.
